The city itself is amazing, extremely organized and chill, and the hostel staff just gets you in the vibe much more quickly. Pick a season and come over, you\'ll sure be able to make the best out of it...close

Montreal is a young, lively and trendy city with great shopping, nightlife, sightseeing and restaurants. Montreal has a real European feel as a lot of the people are French Canadian. There are loads of shopping centres underground and long streets such as Saint Catherine Street and Saint-Laurent Street with hundreds of different and unique clothes and shoes shops. The food was great and the people were very friendly. The streets are lined with cafes and bars so there is plenty to choose from. I really enjoyed Montreal it was great craic; it has a real buzz about it and is definitely worth a visit!!close

Montreal is a beautiful city with a beautiful culture! The sights are great and the metro makes it really easy to get around, if you look hard enough there are some great little bars, I recommend the shisha bar on Rua St Denis - it had a really nice atmosphere, busy yet relaxed. Montreal is kind of a beautiful accident; an ordinary city trapped in an architecturally lovely city's body. It's interesting, pretty, and relaxing, but it isn't really an exciting nonstop whirlwind of shops, restaurants, events and parties - which is okay by me. (I live in Toronto.) You see more locals than you do tourists, and the city reflects that. Maybe it's different in the summer. If you are going in the winter, dress to stay warm, and be prepared to do a lot of walking because buses are few and far between. And if you need a hostel, we stayed at Le Sous Bois and it was excellent. Anyway, it's a nice change of pace and a lovely getaway, even if it isn't overflowing with tourist-friendly stuff. I highly suggest you wander into some of the stunning churches, go down St-Denis, and check out the planetarium.close

People are friendly, but I had hard time meeting others as a solo traveller. It's a lovely walking city, so be ready for some sore feet and amazed eyes.     A great location - right in the middle of the Latin Quarter on Rue St. Denis. Great value for money. A few tips on housekeeping. Please have the bedside lamp connected. There is a lamp but unfortunately no socket. Hector was a great host during breakfast.

    Good basic hotel in brilliant location. Others have commented on noise from the restaurant but I didn't have any problems with this. Have rated fun as 'average' but I actually wanted a nice quiet hotel, not a party hostel!

    ok place, room was big, but they didnt clean very often, and my other half vomited in a bin and they didnt change the bin for 2 days yuk!!!!!!!!, also we had asked for a alarm clock as we had to get up early and they didnt have one, they said we will wake you up at 5.30 but no one ever did....

Go there in the early evening when the wine glasses on the neatly set tables reflect the light coming from the open sky above the river right outside the restaurant. The atmosphere is delightful, as is the staff. A bottle of wine, a salad and an entree will taste...

    If you want to try tradicional portuguese food, in Montreal, no doubt, this is the place to go. Their food is excelent, i would just say that their service could be a bit faster. But the quaility of the food is just amazing, and they offer a large selection of portuguese private import wines.

    Yup! you read right, this is an insect museum and it's both freaky and cool. The building itself is a giant insect in which butterflies can fly around freely, and perhaps, if you're lucky land on your shoulder. Why go there? well if you're interested in environmental issues, entimology, or anthropology you can actually learn a lot from the creapy crawlies....

    this is a tiny little brew pub that makes its own beer in the french quarters of the town, full of ambiance, people, loud, and very good beer. Open everynight. Accessible from a short 10 minutes walk from either Berri-Uquam or Sherbrooke Metro stations. The bar is on Ontario street, just past St-Hubert Street. Cheers
